This weekend I was able to accomplish a whole lot more than I knew. On my 'to do' list was to set up my website. Now I'd done a bit of research, but as we all know, there is a difference between reading about something and actually applying the knowledge into the hands-on activity.
When I thought about setting it up, I thought it would be fairly simple. This is a blog-based website and has certain themes that you can choose from. Each theme has a set design and color scheme. So, you pick the theme you want, put in your title or picture and off you go! However, upon looking through all of the templates, none seemed to suit what I really wanted. I really just wanted a bit of each of them. So, how was I going to accomplish this? I had hit a roadblock, and didnt think I could do anything about it. Then I realised, if I knew a bit more about web design, I could go into advanced mode and edit the html code (code that makes up the size, color and layout of a webpage, looks like a foreign language). I felt completely stuck, at first I had no idea, or memory of what I needed to do (as the last time I successfully read html code was a good 8 years ago). However, I was determined that I could learn what I needed to, in order to make the necessary layout changes. Many hours later, thanks to the web, 'how-to' blogs and a little bit of sheer luck, at 3am I was excited to discover that I really had completed what I earlier thought was impossible. I was reminded of Momentum's motto, through this learning experience that: I can do anything, even if I need help! This experience shows all the many learning experiences we are exposed to in our every-day life! Imagine the amount of experiences like this, each day, that our children go through! Way to go! you CAN do ANYTHING!
